Vioxx

Merck & Co. removed its blockbuster arthritis drug Vioxx from the market in September 2004, because new data from a clinical trial found an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, blood clots and other cardiovascular complications. Recent reports, however, note that Merck knew of Vioxx's risks long before it was withdrawn from the market. This large pharmaceutical company reportedly put profit making before its consumers' health. Because millions of Americans have taken the drug, the Food and Drug Administration estimates that more than 27,000 patients have suffered heart attacks or have died as a result of using Vioxx.

Vioxx is in a class of medications called the COX-2 Inhibitors, which also includes the drugs Celebrex, and Bextra.

If you or a loved one has suffered a heart attack or other injury after using Vioxx, contact the attorneys of James F. Humphreys & Associates. James F. Humphreys & Associates will not allow victims of Vioxx's adverse effects to suffer due to the negligence of a large pharmaceutical company. Fill out a free case evaluator now.
